Maharajas’ Express, India’s Luxury train receives the “Seven Stars Global Luxury Award”. At a magnificent function held on September 19, 2015, in the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia; the elite train won the global recommendation. The awards were initiated in 2013 applauding luxury in hospitality and Lifestyle.
The world’s leading luxury train earned its title by competing with internationally renowned luxury trains like The Deccan Odyssey (India), the Rocky Mountaineer (Canada), Rovos Rail (South Africa), etc.
Maharajas’ Express recognition has previous benchmarks as the train won the CNBC Travel Award for the second time in June 2015. It also got voted as ‘The World’s Leading Luxury Train’ at The World Travel Awards for three years consecutively 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Dr A. K. Manocha, Chairman and Managing Director, IRCTC said “Indian luxury trains will get the deserved recognition owing to this award. By being praised with the Seven Star Global Luxury Award, Maharajas’ Express has made its name and reputation.”
Maharajas’ Express made its inaugural run in 2010. The train defines its name. Symbolizing grandeur, opulence, luxury, and comfort, the lifestyle of the Maharajas era has been recreated. The luxury train runs only in pleasant weather, between the tourist months of October and April. The 5 routes of the luxury train comprise destinations from the desert kingdom of Royal Rajasthan to the lush Western Ghats in Maharashtra and from the holy Ghats of Varanasi to the Classical Khajuraho temples, every aspect of the regal era is covered.
