Palace on Wheels, a popular luxury tourist train of Rajasthan Tourism will soon begin its journey from Gujarat. This time, the train will play host to product launches, board meetings, and marriage parties.
An agreement has been signed between Sajid Sayed, owner of JS Ventura, a Gujarat-based travel company, Rajasthan State Tourism Department, and Indian Railways to bring Palace on Wheels to Gujarat.
As per the agreement, Sayed will take charge of the train and will finalize the itinerary as per all the bookings made. In August, Palace on Wheels will start its journey from Gujarat and it will host its first marriage party on board.
“We have booked the train for the year and will plan the journey according to the needs of our clientele. We plan to take the Palace on Wheels from Ahmedabad, and head to Udaipur, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, and Delhi and the final destination will be Agra. We also have plans to host dinner for the passengers on the lawns near the Taj Mahal. We have taken special permission for this.”
“Though the train will originate from Ahmedabad, we have to market Rajasthan state tourism as it is their property and will book guests in hotels run by the Rajasthan tourism department.” Said Sajid Sayed.
According to the officials, Palace on Wheels did not get much response when it was in Rajasthan. With this new run, officials are expecting much because of the popularity of the Gujarat enterprise.
