Pushkar Fair, a festivity that brings Indian and foreign buyers together, is a classic introduction to the rich culture of Rajasthan.
Traditionally observed as an assembly to trade camels and other cattles, Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan is now a global affair thanks to the cultural potpourri that this annual event has become. Instead of the cattle trading, the cultural affairs such as Matka Phod, longest moustache competition, camel race, ferry wheel rides, turban tying contest for foreigners have now become the highlights of the Pushkar Mela.

The fair is mainly about the trade of livestock such as camels and cattle. According to a survey, the fair recorded the trade of 50,000 camels, which was the world’s largest camel fair.

For the entertainment and involvement of the guests, the fair is divided into three major segments. The first segment is about the Cattle Fair.Apart from camel, livestock such as cows, horses, goats, and sheep, are brought here for trade. The animals are beautifully decorated. Moreover, the beautifully decorated camel owners are also healthily rewarded.

In the second segment of the fair, the culture of Rajasthan is showcased. The visitors could find stalls and shops here that are organized by traders to display beautiful clothes, aesthetic jewelries and various other artifacts that replicate the true essence of Rajasthan.

Pushkar fair, every year is a great success and visited by a ;lot of tourists from around the world. It is always advisable to do the pre-booking for your accommodation as the prices skyrocket due to large number of visitors who come to attend the this annual event in Rajasthan.The latest survey records the footfall in Pushkar from all parts of the world to be around 185000.
Pushkar is also popular for being home to the only temple in the world dedicated to Hindu god Bramha . The Hindu mythology states that, Brahma, the Creator of the Earth, started the creation from Pushkar.
This adds to the mythological significance of the town. Moreover, the beautiful lake of the sacred city makes Pushkar, worth a visit.

Rajasthan is the most vibrant and colorful state in India. Certainly It would be interesting be there during Pushkar Fair. I would love to visit there once during this famous Cattle Fair.

Pushkar is indeed a place which should be visited once in a lifetime and visiting here during the annual cattle fair – which as per your post is the largest cattle fair to be held in the world will only add icing to the cake.
I have been to various destinations in Rajasthan but alas I am yet to visit Pushkar. It's interesting to know that Pushkar has the only Bramha Temple in India. Are you sure about that?
